The WHAT, WHY, and HOW

The VISION
A place where women are encouraged to be unapologetically ambitious in the pursuit of their freedom through financial education. We meet them in the space between life and money and provide them with the tools to make their best money moves.

Meet RACHEL
I've felt the struggle of personal finances most of my life. When I was a kid, my parents struggled to make ends meet, and then as I grew up and began to run my household finances, the cycle repeated itself. My finance resume looked a bit like this for most of my life: robbing Peter to pay Paul, mastering the art of couponing, teaching myself how to budget and menu plan like a ninja, cooking from scratch like a pioneer woman, working side hustles, "make lemonade outta lemons," sacrificing both my physical and mental health to save some dollars and all of that still didn't prevent me from my lowest point… having hungry kids… the hungry that wasn't coming from a place of entitlement because they didn't want "that" kind of cracker but rather a different cracker…no… this was from a truly hungry belly and I had nothing to stop the immediate hunger. Having my son tell me he couldn't find anything to eat, so he went outside to play so he wouldn't feel the hunger quite so much. That was indeed one of the very lowest points in my life and the biggest turning point. That moment in time is labeled "Never Again." I will never again have a hungry child or risk having one. I will do whatever it takes to prevent that from ever happening again.

It's been nearly a decade since that day my son experienced true hunger and what I call my "never again" moment. As time goes on and we walk this path together, I'll share more of my story and the life lessons I have gathered along the way, and I hope you will share yours. For now, know this… I don't pretend to have all the answers, walked a mile in your shoes, or had it the worst. This isn't a competition, and if it is, I don't want to be the winner of the "I've had it the crappiest" award. Nope. However, with that said, I have done some living, and I know a thing or two about working through the muck. I've collected life lessons and hacks that I believe to be invaluable and want to make available. I not only wish I had known them much sooner but that my parents did as well, for this is the stuff that has the power to shape future generations and not just the current moment.

Rachel's Opinion:
Having money doesn't necessarily make you happy, but not having to worry about money can make you very happy.

Options are important because options lead to opportunities to enjoy freedom... and I'm a freedom chaser!
The APPROACH
Women’s Money Club is going to be multifaceted. The Community is only the very beginning. Here’s what to look for in the near future:
-
90-Day Challenges: Simple to follow but very effective challenges geared around specific topics such as savings, money mindset, budgeting, and college scholarships, just to name a few. Some will be no charge while others will be for a small fee.
-
Book Club: We will be hosting a book club starting in June. This is going to be a great way to learn about some basics when it comes to investing in the stock market. The book for this year is The Simple Path To Wealth by JL Collins.
-
Downloadable DIY Templates (both NO COST and LOW COST): Work through the process of things such as goal setting, budgeting, money mindset, and investing. Each downloadable will be a stand-alone guide. We always offer a no cost downloadable on our landing page. Others that we roll out from time to time will cost less than the average trip to Starbucks.
-
1:1 Financial Coaching with Rachel: A custom experience in understanding how your money is coming and going each month, a plan to eliminate high-interest debt, the emotions you have behind your spending and money beliefs gathered through the years, a financial plan based on your goals and values, monthly newsletter subscription, and regular ongoing challenges to keep you focused. Additionally, Rachel will hold you accountable to your plan and the commitment you made to yourself.
-
Scholarship Mentorship Program (starting in the fall): This is a mentorship program for our young ladies (8th grade and older) who are planning to attend college. In this mentorship, you will receive guidance on how to get organized, find scholarships, apply for scholarships, suggestions on essay topics and review essays before submission, researching different collages, how to determine if you qualify for particular scholarships, how to keep track of awarded scholarships, on campus and government resources to tap into, and so much more. This is not just handing the kids a list of scholarships and encouraging them to apply, but rather a true mentorship. We don't want your young ladies to miss out on this great opportunity!
-
Various Social Media: We currently have an Instagram page, womens_money_club, and both a public and private Facebook page, Women's Money Club. The private group is only available to those who have attended a monthly meeting.
